Passion

I was listening to a great podcast today (Ed Mylett). Yes I podcast and love listening to podcasts!

This podcast was all about passion- what makes me excited, what makes me angry, on fire, what makes me cry and say I’m not ok with that in the world! On the podcast his guest said something amazing “We make a living from a problem we solve, but we make a life from the passions we chase”.

For me that was profound. I don’t want a living, I want a life. Full of passion, excitement and yes even anger. It’s not bad to be angry, I worry more about indifference. And that is one thing I never am, is indifferent. My husband says I have an opinion about everything! Wait, doesn’t everyone?

I help women breastfeed. I can solve a painful nipple, or bad latch issue. I can help with bottle problems and sleep, with food allergies and mastitis. But it’s tongue tie that is my passion. It’s tongue tie that I suffered with when nursing my babies, and that I deal with as an adult now.

Tongue tie guides my personal and professional path. It’s how I choose my courses to take, how I decide what professionals to reach out to and what I think about each and every day. I still currently have my tongue tie (listen to episode 20 and hear updates about this), and am a tongue tie parent- both kids had their releases this year at 13 and 10 years old and the youngest has palate expansion too. I see almost exclusively tongue tie clients (lots of referrals from providers, other parents and those who are just finding me because I’m a tongue tie expert). It’s tongue tie studies I read on weekends, tongue tie information I am always seeking. Tongue tie is my passion.

What lights you up inside? What makes you want to jump with joy or cry with anger? What is you passion?
