Ep 133 Tongue Tie Release and Research with Dr Lam-Do

Every field needs research.  It's how we test ideas, see if our guesses were correct and prove that something actually works.  In the world of oral ties, research is slow going, and desperately needed.  Dr Lam-Do is working as part of a collaborative group with other release providers worldwide to study frenectomy after care.  This study hopes to give us more information about what is necessary, what doesn't help and how we can support wound healing and function post release.  Listen to hear more from Dr Lam-Do and Katie Oshita as they discuss the importance of research, timing of release, functional assessments and more.

Podcast Guest: Dr. Lam-Do is one of the few dentists in Montreal, Canada accredited by the ALD (Academy of Laser Dentistry), he is a Fellow of the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry), a Fellow of the ALSC (American Laser Study Club), and a Fellow of the ICD (International College of Dentists). He is a graduate of The Breathe Institute and of AADSM's Mastery program (American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine). He works with MDs, RNs, IBCLCs, SLPs, chiropractors, and osteopaths to help ankyloglossia patients of all ages. In 2019, he founded the Montreal Tongue-Tie Institute alongside his spouse Dr. Sochea Da Lung-Tor who is a general dentist with a focus on interceptive orthodontics and oromyofunctional therapy.
